Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 Gallery

    Galleries   Film

Here are some photos taken with a Hi-Matic AF2 using 35mm Kodak film.  See also my review of this camera.  (Pictures of the AF2 are on the review page.)

With any of these, the purpose is not so much to take generic "test photos" with a particular camera;  that would be easy enough to accomplish by photographing flat pieces of cardboard, the ground, etc, and talking only about technical sharpness.  Instead, the purpose is to photograph scenes, places, and things I might find somehow interesting, while hoping that the test camera will function as intended.

When I first picked up a camera, I wanted every scene to be calendar-worthy, like some idealized sunset or waterfall.  There weren't many scenes like that, so here's what I photograph.

It's not that I somehow try to see things the way they appear in the photographs, nor do I try to copy any particular photographic style.  These views simply take shape because "they just are".

And so, here's my Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 gallery.

This one shows some corner blurring, but then not all of this scene is in the same plane.  In other pictures, corner sharpness seemed OK.
